Safety Center
Last updated August 2026.
A few features of I’m looking for exist specifically to make it safer than a typical dating app. Here’s how they work, and how to look after yourself while using it.
Built-in protections
- 18+ only. Every account confirms a date of birth at sign-up; accounts that don’t meet the age requirement are rejected.
- No public replies. Every answer is private between the person who wrote it and the person who asked inside the service. Other members cannot browse it. The post owner can export only its text through an anonymous card that excludes the responder’s identity and original media.
- Double consent. A conversation only opens after the post’s author sends a connect request from a specific answer, and the other person accepts it. Nobody can message you without that.
- Report and block. Any post or member can be reported in the app. Blocking a member immediately stops them from contacting you or seeing your posts, and stops you from seeing theirs.
Before you meet someone
- Talk in the app for a while before sharing your phone number or moving to another platform.
- Video chat before meeting in person, if you can.
- Meet the first time in a public place, and tell a friend where you’re going.
- Arrange your own transportation to and from the date.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, it’s okay to leave or cancel.
Reporting something
You can report a specific post, private answer, or member’s profile directly from the app. Reports are reviewed — the person you report is never told who reported them. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Child safety
See our Child Safety Standards for how we prevent, detect, and report child sexual abuse and exploitation.
